Ramaniyam 2014

Shrishti Art Gallery is organizing the first edition of “Ramaniyam”, a three day art festival at Hyderabad, from October 10 to October 12, 2014. This edition of the festival is to honor and recognize Padma Shri Jagdish Mittal’s contribution to Indian art over the last 60 years. 

The event will showcase Jagdish Mittal’s life, his art collection, his association with Hyderabad artists and art scholars all over the world and two exclusive art exhibitions – 
1)      Exhibition of paintings by Masters of Indian contemporary art including M F Hussain, F N Souza, S H Raza, Ram Kumar, Kishen Khanna, K K Hebbar, Jamini Roy
2)      Exhibition of paintings by leading Hyderabad artists from 1950.

October 10, 2014: Kalpavrksha
Venue: Shrishti Art Gallery, Jubilee Hills

  • This event will give us a glimpse into the life and art collection of Jagdish Mittal.
  • The show will display images of Jagdish Mittal’s art collection as well as photographs from his personal life.
  • Talks by Laxma Goud, Shankar Melkote and Dr Radhe Shyam Shukla on Jagdish Mittal’s influence on their lives as well as the Indian art landscape

October 11 –Exhibition of artworks by Hyderabad's leading artists (1950 to Present)
Venue: Shrishti Art Gallery, Jubilee Hills

  • View specially curated works of sixteen renowned artists of Hyderabad ranging from 1950 to 2014 including
    • 1950-1965: P.T. Reddy, Vidya Bhushan, K. Rajaiah and Jagdish/Kamla Mittal
    • 1965-1990: Laxma Goud, Surya Prakash, T. Vaikuntam, Gouri Shankar and DLN Reddy
    • 1990 onwards: A Rajeswara Rao, Fawad Tamkanat, K. Srinivasachary, Chippa Sudhakar, Laxman Aelay and Gouri Vemula

October 12 – Exhibition of Paintings by Masters of Indian Contemporary Art
 Venue: SalarJung Museum

  • An exhibition of paintings by the Masters of Indian Art including M.F. Hussain, S. H. Raza, F. N. Souza, Ram Kumar, K. H. Ara, Akbar Padamsee, Krishen Khanna, Bikash Bhattacharjee, K. K. Hebbar, Jamini Roy, Ram Kinkar Baij and Prakash Karmar among others
  • Listen to Nitin Bhayana (Businessman, seasoned art collector & advisor to National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi) talk about Indian Contemporary and Modern Art and Art as an investment vehicle
  •  Release of a coffee table book on Shri Jagdish Mittal by Pinky Reddy
