Surya Prakash’s work is a celebration of nature. The semi-realistic representation of flowers and foliage is marked by layered colors and meticulously executed textures. His portrayal of native landscapes is sensual and luminous, enticing the onlooker to experience nature. He obtained his Diploma in Fine Arts from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. He has held several solo shows in India and abroad. He has participated in several exhibitions including the Paris Biennale, 1971, Modern Indian Art at Kunstalle, Germany, 1981 and Indian Art Contemporary at Art Museum, Ginza, Tokyo, 1995. He has curated several exhibitions, acted as a member commissioner for the 5th and 11th India Triennale. He has participated and conducted several art camps and has also curated collections for various corporate, educational, scientific and medical institutions. He lives and works in Hyderabad.
